More than just a choir!
Joy Choir is a friendly, non-auditioning community choir based in Rawdon, Leeds. We bring people together through feel-good contemporary songs, shared laughter and the joy of singing as one.
No experience is needed, and you do not need to read music. Whether you are a confident singer or have not sung in years, you will be warmly welcomed into a relaxed and supportive community.
Joy Choir is a place to switch off from the week, build confidence, make new friends and leave every rehearsal feeling uplifted.
Meet the Director
Libby Harborne
London-born and proudly Yorkshire-based, Libby Harborne is a musical director, arranger and performer with a passion for bringing people together through music.
Libby has spent many years teaching singing and leading choirs across Yorkshire, London and Hong Kong. In 2018, she founded Joy Choir with a simple vision: to create a friendly, inclusive community where everyone can experience the joy of singing, regardless of age, background or previous musical experience.
A big part of Libby’s work is creating fresh choir arrangements that are fun to learn, rewarding to sing and designed to help every section shine. She loves finding contemporary songs that members will connect with and transforming them into uplifting harmonies for the choir to enjoy together.
Libby has seen first-hand how singing can lift your mood, ease stress, build confidence and create lasting friendships. Her rehearsals are relaxed, encouraging and full of warmth, with plenty of laughter along the way.
Above all, Libby is passionate about building a community where every voice is valued. Her aim is for each member to leave rehearsal feeling lighter, brighter and more connected—to the music, to themselves and to one another.
